At CAM Solar, we are very familiar with the upsides of residential solar and many Texas homeowners turned to a solar energy system with a solar battery backup after the grid problems in early 2021!
But based on the initial price tag of a photovoltaic (PV) system, we also understand why some homeowners are hesitant to commit. Homeowners who considered upgrading to solar electricity in 2021 but didn’t go for it can still reap all the benefits of solar in 2022!
The truth is, going solar isn’t that different from investing in a college education for yourself or your child. It’s a long-term investment in the well-being of an individual and their community, and though the sticker price can look intimidating on its own, you have to consider all your options for financial aid, such as solar rebates and incentives, and solar promotions and special offers, to better understand your financial responsibility. And, after a solar system has been installed, it will offer your home a myriad of cost-saving benefits, like reduced energy costs for 25+ years.
There are a number of incentive programs from San Antonio, TX, to Austin, and beyond, to offset the cost of a PV system for your home. Read on to learn more, and be sure to check out our solar FAQs too!
With Plenty of Sunshine to Go Around, Why Not Go Solar?
Texas is one of the most consistently sunny states in the US, so it’s safe to say you won’t be at risk of running out of energy with a solar PV system! Here are some of the most rewarding benefits:
Bid outages farewell with a solar battery
It’s a common misconception that solar panels can power your home year-round without interruption or when the grid goes down. While this is true during the day, solar panels need help from a solar battery like the Tesla Powerwall or Enphase Encharge to reserve power for use when the sun is down, and during power outages. By upgrading your system to include a solar battery, you can use more clean, renewable solar energy and maintain power to your home when the grid goes down.
Lower your monthly energy costs
Solar power is free and limitless, which means you’ll be able to enjoy significantly lower electricity costs when you install a PV system. Plus, going solar will help you avoid rising electricity rates due to inflation. With a solar power system, you can stabilize your energy costs and save money on electricity for decades.
Boost the value of your home
Texans know the value of a solar system, and are willing to pay for property with solar accordingly! Solar panels can raise the value of your home, and homes with solar panels often sell faster than homes without them. Photovoltaic systems are designed to last two to three decades, meaning that whether you decide to move in four years or fourteen years, you’ll still be able to enjoy the value of your solar investment.
